You might be familiar with my shelling column in the Times. I was working on a series of pieces about Mr. Wilde, when out of the blue, he called. He says he wants to talk. But I don’t think he’s going to like what I have to say. Quimbly sets out on his first-ever field assignment for the Tax and Revenue Agency to investigate the mysterious Mr.
Green on a charge of coin hoarding. He finds both the illegal coin collection and Mr. Green at a dilapidated warehouse down by the docks Levi, an entangled whale, is making a dying journey up the Atlantic coastline. Each day brings the creature closer to a frightening end – strangled beneath fishing nets and lead sinkers.
With humor and a thoughtful voice, Jeep Muldoon relates the story of a daring rescue on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The boys set up their command center ahead of the whale at the Cape Lookout Eco Camp. Each passing day brings a new adventure with a bashful sea monster, a pair of ghostly banker ponies and the unassuming heir to a baseball legend.
Following a Moby Dick-like rampage, Jeep and his pals dive right back into danger. What at first appears to be an online hoax launches retired PI Alan Swansea into an investigation exposing a gang of sex traffickers. After receiving a mysterious email message from a woman making a desperate plea to save her younger sister, Swansea finds himself entrenched in the horrific world of human trafficking.
Will Polina become yet another victim of modern day sex slavery like the others? Throughout his investigation, Swansea becomes increasingly aware of the devastating effects sex trafficking has had on the lives of the victims and what little is being done by law enforcement to stop it. As the toll of victims rises, so does his resolve to bring the villains to justice. But as time runs out, Swansea discovers that the trail of his investigation may very well have gone cold. It combines stories that are fictional, with technology that is real.
While none of the stories have happened, there is no reason why they could not. These groundbreaking books created a fictional world of hacker superheroes and villains based on real world technology, tools, and tactics. It is almost as if the authors peered into the future as many of the techniques and scenarios in these books have come to pass. This book contains all of the material from each of the four books in the Stealing the Network series.
